“Pastors
duped me, Friends disappointed me; I remain loyal to Yinka Ayefele &Yemi
Sonde….” Otunba Femo Lancaster.

Prince Taiwo Oguntoye.
It was a rain free Monday in the city of
Ibadan, the 10th day of November, 2014. The writer, his twin brother
( Prince Kehinde Oguntoye), and Mr Akolade Amokeodo, (Tiswell photo boss),
arrived the Akobo multimillion mansion of ace juju-gospel singer, Otunba Femi Fadipe with the stage name
Femo Lancaster at about half pasted twelve in the afternoon. The sole purpose of the visit was to celebrate
and rejoice with Lancaster’s family at the christening of baby Fadipe.
Bunmi and Femi had been married for close
to a decade without the fruit of the womb. Both were medically certified, but
the babies were not coming. The up’s and down’s been evident in such
relationship most especially when a celebrity is involved. Bunmi could not hide
her feelings as she was engulfed with smiles and laughter throughout the stay
of the writer at the event.
The naming which was scheduled to start by
11am was started few minutes after 1pm.
It started with praise and worship led by the popular gospel artiste,
lady Evang. (Dr.) Olubukola Akinade, Jp ( Sewenle Jesu), who ensured that all
present had a true worship experience alongside giving thanks on behalf of the
Fadipe’s through praises.
Pastor Jide Orisaleye charged the
atmosphere with words of exhortation taken from Psalm 126 earlier read by
Prophetess Elubipe. He titled his sermon, THE
LORD HAS DONE GREAT THINGS FOR US. “This is the manifestation of the
long-time dream of the couple, the Lord had restored the fortunes of the
fadipe, the long weeping has ended, it is time to rejoice and be grateful to
God. He however noted that no pastor or man can claim he did this for you; it
is a gift from God. Therefore, it is your responsibility to train him in the way
of the Lord and return him back to God just as Hannah gave Samuel in service to
God”, he concluded.
As expected, the child had a long list of
names, close to two-dozens. He even had a sentence as name. Among his names
are: Oluwadarasimi, Oluwawemimo, Olayinka, Temitope, Oluwabunmi, Israel, Toluwa', Heritage.....
Gift offering was collected for the child
with songs led by Sewenle Jesu. What next? Testimony time of course.
Among the testifiers were the ace presenter
and the National President of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association
of Nigeria (FIBAN), comrade Yemi Sonde, who said “I have been with the couple
from the beginning and am privileged to know much on what they went through,
but I give thanks to God for a day like this.” Mr Niyi Akinboade popularly
called Ologbojo also a season presenter was interchangeably raising songs of
praise.
It is now the turn of Mrs Bunmi fadipe, she
was full of thanks to God who was her through the trial period. “I dedicated
myself to the work of God, continually cleaning the church environment against
medical advice, I wasn’t afraid of miscarriage. I also have to publicly thank
my husband (she went on her kneels) he was there for me”. Others as well testified
on the miracle received by the couple.
Otunba Femi Fadipe, femo Lancaster in his
vote of thanks, appreciated everyone for coming to rejoice with his family. He
however took time to narrate his ordeal in the hands of pastors, during the
search of the fruit of womb. “I stopped attending church services three years ago
due to my reflection on how pastors had duped my family of our hand held
monetary resources. A particular pastor even told my wife that I had used her
womb for rituals.
My intimate friends are the ones spreading
lies around to the extent that one advised my wife to divorce me and pack out
of my house as he (my friend) claimed I cannot have a child in life. I give all
glory to God for I have been vindicated by The Almighty (Oluwawemimo).
Uncle Yemi Sonde is here today, there is
hardly any step I will take without him knowing, he was the person that God
used for my first opportunity to travel by plane. I maintain my total loyalty
for you and also to Yinka Ayefele.”
Lancaster, the “okiki gradually” singer
concluded by saying “I have forgiven everyone who tried to pull me down during
my trials and I have resumed my church activities”.
They were various delicacies for all. Among
dignitaries sighted by the writer (before leaving for another important
assignment) were: Comrade Yemi Sonde, Chief Niyi Akinboade (Ologbojo), lady
Evang. (Dr.) Olubukola Akinade, Jp (Sewenle Jesu) and her husband, Pastor
Akinade among others.
